Chapter 7 - THE NIGHT THE CAMERAS WENT BLIND

Claire told Adrian the truth.
Her husband, Daniel Dawson, had worked for a security contractor.
Three years earlier, he'd discovered irregularities in several surveillance projects.
He'd begun collecting evidence.
Then he died in what police initially classified as a traffic accident.
Claire never believed it.
She'd found a note among his belongings.
Three words.
VALE HOUSE — KESSLER.
She'd spent years trying to understand it.
When she saw a housekeeping position advertised at Adrian's estate, she applied.
Adrian listened.
Then asked:
“Why didn't you tell me?”
Claire looked at him.
“Would you have believed me?”
He said nothing.
She smiled sadly.
“Exactly.”
That night, the estate's security cameras failed for eleven minutes.
When the system returned, a service door near the drawing room had been opened.
Someone had entered the hidden corridor.
And someone had removed equipment.
Adrian looked at Marco.
“They know.”
Marco nodded.
“Yes.”
May you like
Adrian's expression hardened.
“Then we stop waiting.”
