Chapter 5 - THE SECRET WALTER BURIED

The first clue came from an old invoice.
Marco found it in the estate's renovation records.
A contractor had been paid to install specialized acoustic panels behind the drawing-room wall.
The payment had been authorized through a company connected to Walter Kessler.
Adrian stared at the document.
“When?”
Marco answered.
“Four months ago.”
Adrian frowned.
“Before Camille gave me the mirror.”
Marco nodded.
“Yes.”
The room had been prepared before the gift arrived.
The mirror was only the final piece.
Adrian looked down.
Walter had planned this.
But why?
Money?
Control?
Blackmail?
Or something connected to the past?
He thought of his father.
The man who'd died when Adrian was fifteen.
Walter had always said the death was an accident.
A car crash.
A wet road.
A failed brake line.

Adrian had believed him.
Now he wondered what else he'd believed because Walter had told him to.
