Chapter 6 - THE SECRET BEHIND SOPHIA'S SON
Alexander began asking questions.
Sophia's son, Oliver, was six years old.
Alexander had known him since infancy.
He'd paid for schools.
Doctors.
Vacations.
Security.
Everything.
But one evening, Marco brought him a file.
“Boss.”
Alexander looked up.
“What?”
“There's something you should see.”
The file contained financial records.
Messages.
And a birth certificate.
Alexander stared.
Oliver's father was listed as unknown.
But attached was a private laboratory report.
Alexander's expression changed.
“What's this?”
Marco swallowed.
“A paternity test.”
Alexander stared.
The results showed that Oliver's biological father was a man named Daniel Reynolds.
Sophia's former husband.
Alexander frowned.
“I knew that.”
Marco nodded.
“Yes.”
Then he placed another document on the desk.
A series of messages between Sophia and Daniel.
Alexander read them.
His blood turned cold.
Sophia had been receiving money from Daniel for years.
And she'd been telling Alexander that Daniel had abandoned them.
She had allowed Alexander to believe he was the only person protecting Oliver.
While quietly collecting support from the boy's father.
Alexander stared at the messages.
