Chapter 11 - THE TRUTH SOPHIA HAD BURIED
Sophia's lies finally unraveled.
Investigators discovered she'd been using Alexander's money to maintain a lifestyle far beyond what she'd claimed to need.
She had hidden financial support from Daniel Reynolds.
And she'd repeatedly manipulated Alexander into prioritizing her family over Claire.
But the most painful truth wasn't financial.
It was emotional.
Sophia had known exactly how much Claire wanted children.
She'd known Alexander wasn't ready.
And she'd used Oliver to keep Alexander emotionally tied to her.
When Alexander confronted her, Sophia cried.
“I loved you.”
He stared.
“Then why did you hurt my wife?”
She looked away.
“Because she had the life I wanted.”
Alexander closed his eyes.
For the first time, he understood.
Sophia hadn't simply needed help.
