Chapter 11 - THE PRICE OF ROMAN'S JEALOUSY

The investigation destroyed the Costa family's reputation.
Several former executives were arrested.
Business partners withdrew.
Contracts collapsed.
Roman lost millions.
But he didn't regret exposing the truth.
What he regretted was how he'd treated Sadi.
The flowers.
The interrogation.
The surveillance.
The way he'd mistaken jealousy for protection.
One evening, he found the old vase in the kitchen.
Empty.
Clean.
Placed beside the sink.
He stared at it.
Then called the florist.
“Do you have pink carnations?”
“Yes, sir.”
Roman hesitated.
Then said, “Actually, never mind.”
He ended the call.
For once, he understood that buying something beautiful wouldn't fix what he'd broken.
