Chapter 6 - The Forensic Audit of Richard Harrington
At 2:00 PM, Richard Harrington was summoned to the corporate headquarters of Harrington Logistics in South Philadelphia.
He strode into the boardroom dressed in a designer suit, attempting to maintain an air of arrogant confidence.
"Gentlemen," Richard announced to the board of directors. "The incident yesterday was an unfortunate family tragedy. But business must continue. I am calling an emergency vote to authorize the liquidation of our subsidiary trusts—"
The double oak doors swung open.
Harrison Cole walked in, flanked by four federal marshals from the Securities and Exchange Commission and Senior Special Agent Marcus Stone.
Richard froze, the color draining from his face until he looked like carved chalk. "Harrison... look, let's talk as brothers! Khloe is alive! The baby is fine! It was all Vanessa's doing!"
Harrison stopped three feet from his brother-in-law.
"You are not my brother, Richard," Harrison said softly, each word landing like an iron spike. "You are merely a parasite who made the fatal mistake of biting my blood."
Harrison tossed a three-hundred-page forensic audit onto the glass table.
"At 11:00 AM today, the Department of Justice unsealed indictments against you for Federal Bank Fraud, Interstate Wire Laundering, Tax Evasion, and Conspiracy to Commit Capital Murder for Trust Acquisition."
Richard began hyperventilating, tears and sweat pouring down his collar. "Harrison, please! I didn't push her! I was in shock!"
"You checked your watch while your pregnant wife was bleeding on the stone, Richard," Harrison replied with cold, absolute disgust.
Agent Stone stepped forward, pulling heavy steel handcuffs from his belt.
CLACK.

The iron cuffs snapped tightly around Richard’s wrists as he was pushed face-down onto his own boardroom table.
"You're going to prison for fifteen years, Richard," Harrison whispered in his ear. "And when you get out, you won't even own the shirt on your back."
