Chapter 3 - The Camera at the Courthouse Arch

By 4:00 PM, Harrison was standing inside the security monitoring vault of the Montgomery County Courthouse.

Beside him sat Senior Detective Marcus Vance and County Prosecutor Karen Hayes.

"Richard Harrington claims it was an accidental slip," Prosecutor Hayes said, clicking through the police dispatch reports. "His defense attorneys have already filed an ex-parte statement claiming Khloe lost her balance on her heels and that Vanessa was merely trying to grab her arm to prevent the fall."

Harrison let out a cold, humorless chuckle that made the hairs on the detective's neck stand up.

"Let's look at Camera Nine, Detective," Harrison said calmly.

Detective Vance tapped the console.

The 4K high-speed panoramic surveillance feed mounted directly under the courthouse entrance arch illuminated the wall monitor:

Timestamp 11:14:02 AM: Khloe is seen standing four feet back from the top step, holding a leather folder containing her divorce filings.

Timestamp 11:14:18 AM: Vanessa Kensington approaches aggressively, screaming into Khloe’s face, while Richard stands two paces behind, checking his gold watch with complete indifference.

Timestamp 11:14:25 AM: Vanessa plants both hands firmly against Khloe’s chest, leans her entire body weight forward, and violently shoves the eight-month-pregnant woman directly backward over the stone ledge.

Timestamp 11:14:30 AM: As Khloe tumbles down thirty steps, Vanessa adjusts her designer sunglasses and smiles. Richard does not move.

Prosecutor Hayes gasped, horror filling her eyes. "That isn't reckless endangerment. That is Attempted First-Degree Premeditated Murder of a Mother and an Unborn Child."

"Print six certified master copies for the Grand Jury," Harrison commanded. "And issue the no-bail arrest warrants immediately."
