Chapter 8 - The Arrest at Whitmore ManorThe following afternoon, the gates of Whitmore Manor were reopened not for socialites or luxury galas, but for the definitive execution of justice.
A convoy of federal marshals arrived to seize Vanessa’s personal assets under the Comprehensive Crime Control Act.
Vanessa was brought back to the estate in handcuffs, under heavy federal guard, to oversee the court-ordered inventory of stolen corporate property and classified laboratory documents she had hidden within her private dressing suite.
She wore an orange prison jumpsuit, her hair disheveled, her makeup stripped away. Gone was the glamorous runway queen of Malibu. She was gaunt, venomous, and cornered.
As she was escorted through the grand foyer, she saw Elena standing at the top of the marble staircase, holding seven-year-old Mia’s hand.
Elena was no longer dressed in a maid’s grey uniform. She wore an elegant, tailored navy blazer, her hair styled with effortless grace, the faint scars on her cheek looking not like disfigurements, but like badges of absolute resilience.
"You think you've won, Claire?!" Vanessa screamed, thrashing violently against the marshals' grip. "You're a scarred freak! Look at your face! Adrian will never look at you the way he looked at me!"
Elena walked slowly down the stairs, her steps echoing with regal poise. She stopped three feet from Vanessa.
"My face was reconstructed by surgeons, Vanessa," Elena said in a calm, clear voice that resonated through the entire manor. "But your soul was rotten from the day you were born. You tried to kill a mother, you tried to poison a baby, and you tried to steal a life you could never earn."
Elena turned to the lead federal marshal.
"Take this trash out of my house."

"With pleasure, Dr. Vance," the marshal replied.
As the marshals dragged Vanessa through the heavy oak doors toward the waiting transport van, Vanessa’s screams echoed down the driveway until the heavy iron gates slammed shut behind her forever.
