Chapter 14 - THE MAN WHO CHOSE HIS FAMILY

Dante's world had changed.

For years, he'd believed power was the only protection his family needed.

But his wealth and influence had not prevented the conspiracy.

His own trusted associate had betrayed him.

And the criminal organization he'd built had created the conditions that allowed it to happen.

Dante began dismantling the violent structures that had defined his life.

He cooperated with investigators.

Addressed his own legal responsibilities.

And shifted his focus toward legitimate business operations.

It wasn't easy.

There were consequences.

Lost influence.

Broken alliances.

Difficult decisions.

But Dante no longer wanted an empire built on fear.

He wanted to be a father.

A partner.

A man whose family could live without looking over their shoulders.

Elisa watched him change.

One evening, she found him sitting beside Lucia's crib.

He was humming softly.

She smiled.

“What are you doing?”

Dante looked up.

“Trying to remember the lullaby you used to sing.”

Elisa stepped closer.

Then began singing.

Dante joined her.

Lucia slept peacefully between them.

And for the first time, the Moretti house felt like a home.
