Chapter 13 - THE FAMILY THAT CAME BACK FROM THE DEAD

Elisa's recovery was gradual.

She continued physical therapy.

Received psychological support.

And worked to rebuild her life after months of isolation.

Dante remained beside her.

But he did not pressure her to return to the mansion.

She had spent too long being controlled by others.

She needed choices.

Time.

Safety.

And the freedom to decide what came next.

Lucia recognized her mother's voice almost immediately.

The first time Elisa held her daughter, she cried so hard she could barely speak.

Dante stood beside them.

His eyes filled.

Elisa looked at him.

“She has your hair.”

He smiled.

“And your eyes.”

Lucia reached toward his face.

He laughed.

For the first time in eight months, laughter filled the room.

Camilla watched from the doorway.

Rosie stood beside her.

“Mommy?”

Camilla looked down.

“Yes, sweetheart?”

“Is the sad man happy now?”

Camilla smiled through tears.

“Yes.”

Rosie nodded solemnly.

May you like

“Good.”

Then she hugged Biscotto.
