Chapter 12 - THE TRUTH THAT COST HIM EVERYTHING
Six months later, Declan appeared in court.
He testified against Ethan.
He also admitted his own involvement in illegal business practices.
The proceedings were difficult.
Public.
Humiliating.
But necessary.
Declan lost control of several companies.
Paid substantial penalties.
And faced legal consequences.
He began rebuilding his life through legitimate work.
He continued physical rehabilitation.
Some days, he could walk short distances with a cane.
Other days, pain forced him to rest.
He learned patience.
Learned to accept help.
And learned that needing assistance did not make him weak.
Mave heard about his progress through Tommy.
