Chapter 6 - THE WAREHOUSE WHERE EVERYTHING BEGAN

Dela returned to Harborpoint Industrial with Cormack three days later.

The building was gone.

Only the concrete foundation remained.

Weeds grew through the cracks.

A rusted fence surrounded the property.

Dela stood near the gate.

Her left leg ached.

Cormack watched her.

“You don't have to go in.”

She looked at him.

“Yes, I do.”

They entered.

Dela walked slowly.

Every step brought back memories.

The smell of chemicals.

The hum of machinery.

Her father's voice calling from the office.

Then the explosion.

The heat.

The falling metal.

The pain.

She stopped near the loading dock.

Cormack approached.

“Dela?”

She pointed toward a concrete wall.

“There.”

He followed her gaze.

“What?”

“My father hid something.”

Cormack frowned.

“Where?”

“Behind the emergency cabinet.”

They searched the remains.

The cabinet was gone.

But the wall remained.

Cormack's security team examined it.

Behind a loose panel, they found a sealed metal container.

Inside were documents.

Photographs.

And a small digital storage device.

Dela stared.

Her father had left evidence.

Three years ago.

May you like

And nobody had found it.

Until now.
