Chapter 5 - The Viral Video Backfire

By 9:00 AM the next morning, the mocking video Vanessa had posted had reached 2.4 million views on social media.
In their rented suburban home, Richard and Vanessa were sitting at the kitchen table, laughing over champagne and eggs Benedict while scrolling through the cruel comments.
"Look at this one, babe!" Vanessa giggled, holding up her phone. "Someone commented: 'She looks better with frosting on her face!'"
Olivia Vance walked in wearing her silk robe, smirking. "Good riddance to that pathetic girl. Now Richard can marry someone with pedigree."
Suddenly, the front doorbell rang with violent, uninterrupted urgency.
Richard frowned, walking to the door. "Who the hell is making all that noise?"
He yanked the door open.
Standing on the porch were four armed Nassau County Sheriff's Deputies and two senior partners from Sterling, Vance & Cross Litigation Group, led by Julian Sterling himself.
Behind them, parked along the quiet street, were three massive commercial moving vans and two tactical police cruisers.
"Richard Vance?" Chief Deputy Miller asked, holding a blue-jacketed judicial writ.
"Yes? What is this?" Richard demanded, trying to sound authoritative. "This is private property!"
"Not anymore, Mr. Vance," Julian Sterling stepped forward, his cold gray eyes piercing through Richard’s arrogance. "Pursuant to the immediate default acceleration clause on your commercial and residential credit facilities, this property has been repossessed by Sterling Global Real Estate. You have exactly thirty minutes to vacate the premises with your personal clothing."

Olivia rushed to the door, shrieked, and pointed a finger at Julian. "Are you insane?! My son is a prominent logistics CEO! We pay thirty thousand a month for this lease!"
"Your company's accounts were frozen at 8:00 AM due to systemic bank fraud and uncollateralized debts," Julian replied smoothly. "And you, Mrs. Vance, are trespassing on corporate land."
