Chapter 5 - THE NAME HIDDEN IN THE MEDICAL RECORDS
The hospital investigation uncovered something disturbing.
The unauthorized login had used credentials connected to an old medical research account.
The account belonged to a former St. Marcel's consultant named Dr. Elias Mercer.
Dorian recognized the name immediately.
Alina noticed.
“Who is he?”
Dorian looked at the screen.
“Someone who worked for my father.”
Her stomach tightened.
“Doing what?”
“Private medical evaluations. Family records. Things my father didn't want public.”
Dr. Hale frowned.
“Mr. Mercer hasn't been affiliated with this hospital for six years.”
Dorian stared.
Then asked:
“Did he access anything?”
The doctor shook her head.
“The attempt was blocked.”
Alina looked between them.
“Why would someone connected to your father care whether I'm pregnant?”
Dorian didn't answer.
Then his phone buzzed.
A message appeared.
No number.
No name.
Just six words.
TWO HEIRS. ONE EMPIRE. BAD TIMING.
Dorian's face went white.
Alina stared.
“What does that mean?”
He looked at her.
