Chapter 6 - The Unraveling of the Dynasty

At 6:30 PM, the grand wrought-iron gates of the Richardson estate in Beacon Hill were surrounded by three marked police cruisers and two commercial moving vans.
Eleanor Richardson stood on the front lawn in her designer heels, clutching an alligator-skin handbag, watching in horror as county sheriff deputies placed bright yellow eviction notices across the carved oak front doors.
Dozens of elite neighbors and press photographers stood along the cobblestone sidewalk, filming the spectacle with their smartphones.
“You cannot do this!” Eleanor shrieked at Deputy Miller. “This home has been in the Richardson family for four generations! My great-grandfather built this library!”
“Your husband mortgaged this home three times over, ma’am,” Deputy Miller replied without looking up from his clipboard. “Title was legally transferred to Sovereign Trust Financial at four o’clock this afternoon. Please step off the property line.”
Charles was sitting on the stone curb with his head in his hands, his tailored linen suit covered in dust, weeping silently as his vintage Porsche 911 was winched onto a flatbed tow truck.
Julian pulled up in a taxi, running across the grass with his hands outstretched.
“Mom! Dad! What is happening?!” Julian cried out. “My credit cards were declined at the hotel! The bank froze my personal checking account!”
Eleanor turned to her son, her face twisted in bitter, poisonous despair.
“Your girlfriend did this, Julian!” Eleanor hissed, grabbing him by the shoulders and shaking him. “The little nobody you brought to my yacht! She owns the bank! She owns this house! She owns everything we touched!”
Julian staggered backward, clutching his chest as the reality of his total, irreversible ruin crushed him.
He pulled out his phone and dialed my private number fifty times in succession.
Every single call went straight to a cold, automated voice:
