Chapter 8 - THE WOMAN IN THE SECURITY FOOTAGE
The investigation uncovered footage from Callum's office.
A woman entered after hours.
She wore a dark coat.
Carried a leather folder.
And used an access card assigned to Callum.
Ara stared at the screen.
She recognized her.
Vivienne Marsh.
Callum's business partner.
The woman he'd insisted was merely a colleague.
Ara felt sick.
Miriam paused the footage.
“Do you know her?”
Ara nodded.
“Yes.”
Her voice broke.
“She came to our house for dinner.”
Lucien sat across the room.
He said nothing.
Ara looked at the timestamp.
The footage had been recorded three months earlier.
The same week her bracelet disappeared.
She remembered Vivienne admiring it during dinner.
Asking whether it had belonged to Ara's mother.
Holding Ara's wrist beneath the kitchen light.
Ara closed her eyes.

Then whispered:
“She took it.”
