Chapter 8 - The Boardroom Unmasking

================================================================================

On Friday morning at 10:00 AM, the 50th-floor boardroom of Vance Global Holdings was packed to capacity for an emergency shareholder assembly.

Twenty institutional directors, private equity partners, and corporate attorneys sat around the forty-foot mahogany table, whispering anxiously about the headlines dominating national news.

The heavy double doors swung open.

Walking down the center aisle with absolute authority was Alexander Vance.

Walking beside him, holding his left hand, was Ethan, proudly walking with his lightweight cast and a silver-tipped walking stick. And holding Alexander’s right hand was me, dressed in an elegant navy-blue wool dress, standing tall and unafraid beneath the crystal chandeliers.

The entire boardroom went completely silent.

Alexander took his seat at the head of the table, resting his hands on the leather folio before him.

“Ladies and gentlemen of the board,” Alexander announced, his voice ringing with absolute authority across the room. “As of 9:00 AM today, Victoria Vance has been stripped of all executive titles, her foundation shares have been seized under federal forfeiture statutes, and she is remanded without bail to Rikers Island.”

The directors nodded in solemn, unanimous approval.

Alexander opened the folio and pulled out a gold-embossed court-certified charter.

“Furthermore,” Alexander continued, looking around the room, “I am officially establishing the Lily Foster Foundation for Displaced Children & Families, backed by an initial fifty-million-dollar endowment from my personal equity reserves.”

A collective gasp of admiration rippled across the table.

“This foundation will provide immediate housing, full medical care, and private educational scholarships for every homeless child and struggling family in the greater New York metropolitan area,” Alexander declared. “And when she reaches eighteen, Lily Foster will assume the role of Permanent Chairwoman.”

The senior director stood up and began clapping. Within seconds, the entire room rose in a thunderous, standing ovation that echoed through the glass tower.
