Chapter 8 - The Eviction of the Parasites

Two weeks later, the civil sheriff arrived at the historic three-story colonial home in Scarsdale where Vivian’s extended relatives had been living rent-free.
Vivian’s sister, Beatrice, stood on the porch in her dressing gown, screaming at the deputies as they placed yellow eviction notices across the carved oak front door.
“You can’t do this! My nephew Daniel owns this house!” Beatrice wailed.
“Title to this real estate belongs exclusively to the Clara Sterling Vance Trust,” Deputy Miller replied coldly, gesturing to the moving crew. “You have twenty minutes to remove your personal clothing before the locks are re-keyed.”
Moving trucks lined the circular driveway as court-appointed bailiffs inventoried the designer furniture, antique rugs, and luxury artwork Daniel had purchased with stolen money.
Neighbors gathered along the sidewalk, watching in stunned silence as the family that had prided itself on arrogance and cruelty was escorted to the curb with two cardboard boxes of personal items.

The locks clicked shut.
The Vance name was officially erased from the property forever.
