Chapter 5 - The Freeze on the Phantom Accounts

At 8:00 AM the following morning, while I was resting under specialized burn care, my lead legal counsel, Julian Hayes, was executing emergency asset recovery orders across Manhattan and Chicago.
Julian walked into the headquarters of Apex Horizon Capital—the private investment firm Daniel had set up using the embezzled funds.
Flanked by two forensic accountants and a court-appointed federal receiver, Julian served the freeze injunction on Daniel’s business partners.
“Every bank account, every luxury vehicle lease, and every commercial trading line tied to Daniel Vance is frozen under the Federal Crime Victims Asset Recovery Act,” Julian announced across the trading floor.
Within forty-five minutes:
Daniel’s private Porsche 911 GT3 was repossessed from the company garage.
Vivian’s high-end country club membership in Westchester was revoked with immediate effect.
