Chapter 9 - THE WOMAN IN THE SURVEILLANCE FOOTAGE

The breakthrough came from a security camera at a nearby gas station.
The footage was old.
Grainy.
But clear enough.
A young woman with dark hair entered the store late at night.
She wore a gray sweatshirt.
Carried a small backpack.
And looked frightened.
Amelia recognized her immediately.
“Rose.”
Her voice broke.
Detective Brooks paused the video.
The timestamp showed the footage had been recorded two days after Rose supposedly vanished.
Amelia began crying.
“She was alive.”
Hannah nodded.
“At least at that time.”
Amelia leaned closer.
Rose bought water.
A phone charger.
And a prepaid phone.
Then she left.
Outside, a dark SUV waited.
Amelia stared.
The driver's face wasn't visible.
But the vehicle's license plate was partially readable.
Investigators traced it to a company connected to Julian Price.
Amelia felt sick.
May you like
He had known.
All along.
