Chapter 13 - THE MAN WHO LEARNED TO ASK
Months passed.
Amelia's flower shop grew.
Rose began rebuilding her life.
She returned to music.
Started therapy.
And gradually regained the confidence she'd lost.
Alessandro visited Amelia's shop occasionally.
At first, he bought flowers.
Then he began asking questions.
About her business.
Her family.
Her favorite books.
Her plans.
One afternoon, he stood beside a display of yellow roses.
“Would you have dinner with me?”
Amelia looked up.
“As a business meeting?”
He smiled.
“No.”
She considered him.
“Are you asking me on a date?”
“Yes.”
She tilted her head.
“Alessandro Deuca, are you nervous?”
He laughed softly.
“More than I'd like to admit.”
Amelia smiled.
“Good.”
He raised an eyebrow.
“Good?”
“It means you understand I can say no.”
He nodded.
“Yes.”
She looked at him for a long moment.
Then smiled.
“Friday. Seven o'clock.”
Alessandro's expression changed.
“Really?”
