Chapter 11 - THE WOMAN WHO WALKED INTO THE TRAP
Caleb sent one final message.
Come to the old restoration warehouse. Alone. I'll tell you what happened to your father.
Naomi stared.
Then called Rebecca.
Together, they contacted the police.
Naomi agreed to cooperate with investigators, but refused to meet Caleb without protection.
The warehouse stood near the river.
Abandoned.
Dark.
Officers approached the building.
Caleb was inside.
He tried to flee.
But he was arrested.
During questioning, investigators discovered documents connecting him to the Newark shipment.
Naomi waited at the police station.
Damian arrived quietly.
He stopped a few feet away.
“Are you okay?”
Naomi nodded.
He looked relieved.
For a moment, neither spoke.
Then Naomi said, “I didn't go alone.”
Damian smiled faintly.
“I know.”
She looked at him.
“I handled it.”
He nodded.

And for the first time, Naomi saw pride in his eyes without possession.
