Chapter 9 - THE SHADOW BEHIND THE EXPLOSION
The investigation into the car bombing had never been closed.
Vincent had blamed a rival syndicate.
But new evidence suggested the attack had come from inside his own organization.
Dominic brought the findings to Vincent.
“Boss, we found something.”
Vincent looked up.
“What?”
“An old maintenance record from the vehicle.”
Vincent frowned.
“The SUV?”
Dominic nodded.
“Someone authorized an unscheduled inspection two days before the explosion.”
Vincent's expression darkened.
“Who?”
Dominic hesitated.
Then placed a document on the desk.
Vincent stared at the signature.
His own cousin.
Adrian Rossi.
The man who had stood beside him at Isabella's funeral.
The man who had helped manage the estate during Matteo's recovery.
The man Vincent had trusted more than anyone outside his immediate family.
Vincent looked up slowly.
“Are you certain?”
Dominic shook his head.
“Not yet.”
Vincent closed the folder.
“Then we investigate.”
