Chapter 5 - THE MAN WHO ORDERED THE AMBUSH
Leo's investigation began with the docks.
Security footage.
Shipping records.
Phone logs.
The Roarke crew had been waiting for Tommy's car.
That much was clear.
But someone had told them exactly when the vehicle would arrive.
Leo sat in his study reviewing documents.
Norah stood beside him.
Still healing.
Still angry.
“You should be resting,” he said.
She crossed her arms.
“You should stop telling me what to do.”
Leo looked up.
For a moment, his mouth twitched.
“Fair.”
Norah studied the footage.
Then froze.
“Stop.”
Leo paused the video.
A man stood near the warehouse entrance.
Dark coat.
Silver watch.
Norah leaned closer.
“That man.”
Leo's expression hardened.
“Do you recognize him?”
She swallowed.
“I saw him before the shooting.”
Leo looked at the screen.
Then whispered:
“That's not Matteo.”
Norah stared.
“Who is it?”
Leo's jaw tightened.
“My uncle.”
Carlo Costa.
The man who had raised Leo after his father died.
