Chapter 14 - THE WEDDING THEY NEVER HAD

One year after their wedding, Leo took Norah back to Saint Augustine Cathedral.
She wore a simple ivory dress.
No corset.
No heavy silk.
No hidden bandages.
Leo wore a dark suit.
Only a handful of people attended.
Tommy.
Bruno.
Clara.
A few close friends.
The priest smiled.
“Are you ready?”
Norah looked at Leo.
He smiled.
“Yes.”
They renewed their vows.
This time, there was no treaty.
No political agreement.
No threat of war.
Just two people who had chosen each other.
When Leo kissed her, Norah smiled.
And for the first time, she felt like a bride.
Not a bargaining chip.
May you like
Not a symbol of peace.
A woman in love.
