Chapter 8 - The Boardroom Eviction of the Parasites

At 10:00 AM on Friday morning, the extraordinary general assembly of Sterling Vanguard Holdings convened on the 50th floor overlooking the Hudson River.
The board members and institutional investors sat around the forty-foot glass table.
Victor Lucian, CEO of Aegis Global Media, sat at the petitioner’s end of the table, flanked by his corporate lawyers, sweating nervously.
I walked into the boardroom dressed in an emerald silk power suit, flanked by Julian Hayes and Senior Detective Marcus Vance of the NYPD Financial Crimes Division.
I took my seat at the head of the table.
“Mr. Lucian,” I began, my voice slicing through the room like a diamond blade. “At 8:00 AM this morning, federal marshals executed search warrants on your servers in Manhattan and London. The encrypted trade secrets Vance Vance transmitted to your private email have been recovered in full.”
Lucian’s face went completely grey. “Sloan... this was a routine commercial merger negotiation—”
“This was criminal corporate espionage under the Economic Espionage Act,” Julian Hayes interjected, sliding an unsealed federal indictment onto the desk. “Aegis Global’s operational charter has been suspended by the Securities and Exchange Commission.”
Two federal marshals stepped through the double doors, securing Lucian in handcuffs and leading him out of the boardroom in disgrace.
I turned to my board members.

“Sterling Vanguard remains 100% debt-free, sovereign, and under my exclusive executive control,” I announced.
The board rose in a unanimous, standing ovation.
