Chapter 9 - THE TRUTH BEHIND THE LOCKED SAFE
Dominic discovered the final betrayal in a locked safe inside Adrian's office.
The safe contained contracts, account records, and correspondence connecting Adrian, Celeste, and Victor Hale.
The documents showed that Celeste had been encouraged to get close to Dominic.
Her relationship with him had provided access to information Adrian couldn't obtain directly.
Dominic stared at the evidence.
For months, he'd believed Celeste understood him.
That she admired his ambition.
That she offered the excitement his marriage had supposedly lost.
Now he understood she'd been using him.
But the discovery brought no satisfaction.
Because even if Celeste had manipulated him, he'd still chosen to betray Eliza.
He'd still introduced another woman as his future wife.
He'd still watched Eliza walk away.
Dominic closed the safe.
Then called Griffin.
“Turn everything over to the investigators.”
Griffin nodded.
“And Adrian?”

Dominic looked toward the window.
“Let the law handle him.”
