Silas cooperated.
He provided documents.
Testified.
And accepted that his own business relationships had created vulnerabilities.
Then he made a decision.
He began separating his legitimate logistics operations from the criminal network he'd inherited.
It wasn't simple.
There were investigations.
Legal consequences.
Financial losses.
But Silas didn't retreat.
One evening, he sat with Leo at the kitchen table.
Flashcards lay between them.
Khloe had helped him enroll in ASL classes taught by Deaf instructors.
Silas signed slowly.

Leo grinned.

Silas smiled.

Leo signed:

Silas froze.
Then Leo laughed.
REAL WOLVES. NOT BAD WOLF MAN.
Silas laughed too.
A surprised, relieved sound.
He nodded.
REAL WOLVES.
Khloe watched from the doorway.
Her eyes softened.
Later, Silas approached her.
“Thank you.”
She smiled.
“For what?”
He looked toward Leo.
“For showing me that he was never the problem.”
Khloe nodded.
“He just needed to be understood.”
Silas swallowed.
“I wasted years.”
She shook her head.
“You can still choose what happens next.”
He looked toward his son.
