Chapter 7 - The Raid on the Private Clinic

At 9:15 AM, Julian Coleman strutted into the estate's formal drawing room, wearing a tailored navy Brioni suit and a five-carat diamond signet ring.
He carried a leather portfolio, smiling with smooth, practiced entitlement.
"Nathan, good morning!" Julian announced cheerfully. "I came to review the quarterly logistics dividend allocations. How are my favorite nephews doing today? Reeves mentioned their muscle tone was deteriorating further."
I sat on the sofa with a clipboard, dressed in my simple cardigan, looking distressed.
"Mr. Julian," I spoke up, my voice trembling with manufactured panic. "Dr. Reeves asked me to give you this private laboratory receipt. He said the... the special aerosol canisters for the ventilation system have run out, and he needs another $50,000 wired to his account before he delivers the next batch."
Julian’s smile tightened into an irritated sneer. He took the paper and shoved it into his pocket.
"Tell Reeves to stop being so paranoid," Julian muttered in a low, annoyed voice. "He has already received half a million. Tell him to finish the job on the twins this week before Nathan brings in more doctors from Europe. Once the boys are buried, Reeves gets his remaining four million."
"And what about Nathan?" I asked, looking up at him.
Julian chuckled darkly, adjusting his cufflinks. "Nathan won't survive the grief. A man who loses his wife and both sons in one year is prone to... fatal accidents. The Coleman empire will finally belong to someone who knows how to use it."
"Thank you, Julian," a voice of cold steel echoed from the double mahogany doors.
Julian spun around.
Nathan stepped into the drawing room, flanked by Senior Special Agent Karen Vance of the FBI and six heavily armed tactical agents.
"That confession was broadcast directly to the Federal District Court in Hartford," Agent Vance announced, stepping forward with an active arrest warrant.
Julian’s face turned the color of wet cement. "Nathan... wait! It’s a misunderstanding! I was joking!"

"You tried to murder my six-year-old sons for money, Julian," Nathan said, his voice dropping into a terrifying, unyielding stillness. "You will spend the rest of your natural life in a concrete cell."
The FBI agents tackled Julian to the Persian rug, pinning his arms and clicking heavy steel handcuffs around his wrists as he screamed in pathetic, frantic terror.
