Chapter 6 - The Eviction from the Rodeo Drive Penthouse

At 2:30 AM, while the storm began to break over Los Angeles, Victoria arrived in a luxury rideshare at the exclusive Rodeo Crown Residences in Beverly Hills—a $14 million private penthouse Edward had purchased three years earlier.
Soaked, shivering, and clutching a borrowed phone, Victoria stormed into the marble lobby, demanding the master elevator key from the night concierge.
“Give me the penthouse access card immediately!” Victoria demanded, trying to smooth her ruined hair. “I am Mrs. Edward Montgomery!”
The concierge looked up with stone-faced, formal detachment.
“I’m sorry, Miss Vance,” the concierge replied smoothly. “At 1:15 AM, by direct judicial order of the Los Angeles County Superior Court and the Montgomery Asset Preservation Trust, your residency authorization was revoked.”
“What?!” Victoria shrieked. “My jewelry is upstairs! My designer wardrobe! My passport!”
Two armed private security guards stepped out from the private elevator foyer, carrying two standard cardboard boxes containing her personal passport and toiletries.
“All luxury assets, fine art, and high-value jewelry purchased through corporate credit facilities have been sequestered under emergency discovery liens,” the lead guard stated coldly. “You have thirty seconds to vacate the lobby before you are detained for unlawful entry.”
Victoria screamed in hysterical, powerless rage, hurling the cardboard box across the polished floorboards as high-end residents looked on in disgusted amusement.

Desperate, she pulled out her burner phone and dialed Julian Cole.
“Julian! Edward found out everything!” Victoria wept into the speaker. “Meet me at Van Nuys Airport right now! We have to take the private jet tonight!”
