Chapter 8 - The Boardroom Execution

On Friday afternoon, the high-profile reckoning reached the corporate towers of Manhattan.

The board of directors of Moretti Global Logistics convened an emergency extraordinary assembly on the 50th floor overlooking the Hudson River.

Sitting around the mahogany table were the seven secondary stakeholders who had secretly funded Lucian’s syndicate and approved Evelyn’s corporate kickbacks.

I walked into the boardroom dressed in a bespoke charcoal suit, flanked by our forensic audit team and federal marshals.

I didn’t sit down. I placed a single leather binder on the center table.

“Gentlemen,” I said, my voice echoing across the silent room. “At 8:00 AM this morning, the United States Marshals Service executed twenty-four seizure warrants across your offshore accounts in the Bahamas.”

The directors turned white as paper.

“Every share, every dividend, and every commercial port asset you held in this company has been declared forfeit under federal asset recovery statutes,” I continued smoothly.

Lead Director Marcus Vance (no relation to the prosecutor) stammered, his hands shaking: “Matteo... we were misled! Lucian told us this was an ordinary logistics acquisition!”

“You financed an armed breach of my home,” I replied with razor-sharp finality. “You are terminated from this board. Effective immediately, 40% of the newly recovered corporate equity is transferred into the Lily Vance Pediatric Medical & Accessibility Foundation.”

The federal marshals stepped forward, escorting the disgraced directors out of the boardroom in disgrace.

The empire had been cleaned of its rot forever.
