Jared contacted Khloe three days later.
He used an unfamiliar number.
“I know where Maya lives.”
Khloe's blood turned cold.
“Leave her alone.”
“Then meet me.”
She did not agree.
Instead, she saved the message and contacted investigators.
Jared sent photographs of Maya's house.
Then a recording of Maya leaving for work.
Khloe was terrified.
But she had learned something important.
Jared's power depended on isolating her.
She would not isolate herself again.
Police increased patrols around Maya's neighborhood.
Evelyn helped Khloe document every threat.
Dante provided information about Jared's employment and access to Meridian vehicles.
Investigators located him at a motel outside Tacoma.
He attempted to flee.
Officers arrested him.
During questioning, Jared claimed Khloe had ruined his life.
The prosecutor later played his threatening messages in court.
For the first time, strangers heard the words without accepting his excuses.
Khloe sat beside Maya.
