Chapter 9 - THE TRUTH ABOUT THE COLLECTOR

Adrian Voss had spent years building his lending network.

But money wasn't his ultimate goal.

Control was.

He used debts to recruit people.

Used fear to silence them.

And used desperation to gain access to places ordinary criminals couldn't reach.

Caleb Bennett had been one of those recruits.

So had several employees connected to the Rossy organization.

The investigation uncovered financial links between Voss and the underboss who had poisoned Vincent.

It also identified suspicious activity around the kitchen power outage.

The evidence suggested Voss had arranged the incident through compromised staff.

But one question remained.

Why?

Vincent had refused Voss permission to expand his lending operation.

That alone seemed insufficient to explain the poisoning.

Then Enzo discovered something.

Voss had been negotiating secretly with rival organizations.

If Vincent died, Voss expected to gain control of valuable territories and financial operations.

The poisoning wasn't personal.

It was business.

Vincent stared at the records.

For years, he'd treated violence as a tool.

Now he was being destroyed by the same logic.

And he finally understood how many people had suffered because of men like him.
