Chapter 11 - THE BOY IN THE LOCKED ROOM

Authorities located Caleb Bennett in an apartment used by Voss's associates.
He was frightened.
Exhausted.
And suffering from injuries sustained during his captivity.
He was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Norah arrived with tears streaming down her face.
Caleb sat on the bed.
When he saw her, he began crying.
“I'm sorry.”
Norah rushed forward.
She hugged him.
For a long time, neither spoke.
Then she stepped back.
“You scared me.”
He nodded.
“I know.”
“You disappeared.”
“I know.”
“You left me with fifty thousand dollars in threats.”
His face crumpled.
“I thought I could fix it.”
Norah shook her head.
“You can't fix everything by running away.”
Caleb looked down.
“I know.”
She sat beside him.
“I love you.”
He began crying again.
“But you need help,” she continued. “Real help. For the gambling. For the lies. For everything.”
Caleb nodded.
“I'll get it.”

Norah took his hand.
