While I rested under the warmth of the medical pavilion, Julian Hayes and a team of forensic accountants finalized the digital audit of Liam Vance’s paper trail.
At 7:00 AM, Julian laid out the master financial schematic before me.
“Let’s review why Liam and Vanessa were so desperate to break you, Clara,” Julian explained.

The Father’s Testamentary Trust: Upon my twenty-sixth birthday—which occurred four weeks ago—the entire $15 million liquid estate and fifty-one percent controlling equity of Vance Cybernetics vested solely and irrevocably in my name.
The Slaying & Incapacity Clause: Under the trust terms, if I died without surviving biological issue, or was declared mentally incompetent, the entire voting control defaulted to my surviving legal spouse—Liam.
The Forged Power of Attorney: Liam had hired an unlicensed notary to draft fraudulent medical declarations claiming I was suffering from severe post-traumatic psychosis and postpartum delusions.
“They didn't just want to force your signature, Clara,” Julian said, his eyes darkening. “Their plan was to starve you until you suffered a miscarriage, force you to sign the asset assignment under duress, and then stage a fatal 'accidental overdose' in that basement before flying to Switzerland.”
I stared at the glowing screen, my hand resting gently over my baby bump.
They had treated my life and the life of my unborn child like disposable obstacles on a balance sheet.
