Chapter 14 - THE HOME THEY BUILT TOGETHER

Months passed.
Lily continued treatment.
Her doctors reported encouraging progress.
Nora returned to school part-time.
She studied child psychology.
She wanted to help children facing difficult medical experiences.
Luca supported her.
Not because he wanted to control her future.
Because he believed in it.
Their marriage slowly changed.
They began having dinner together.
Real dinners.
Without phones.
Without business interruptions.
Sometimes they argued.
Sometimes they laughed.
Sometimes they sat quietly.
And gradually, the mansion began feeling less like a beautiful arrangement and more like a home.
One evening, Nora looked at Luca across the table.
“Do you remember my blue dress?”
He smiled.
“Yes.”
She laughed softly.
“You missed dinner.”
His expression changed.
“I know.”
She reached for his hand.
“Don't miss the next one.”
May you like
He squeezed her fingers.
“I won't.”
