Chapter 10 - A Garden That Blooms Again

One year after that freezing February afternoon, the grand terrace of the Moretti estate was transformed into a paradise of white hydrangeas, golden lanterns, and joyful music.

Over two hundred guests—reformed business partners, loyal household staff, world-renowned pediatric physicians, and true friends—gathered beneath the open blue sky.

I stood near the stone balustrade dressed in a bespoke linen suit, watching seven-year-old Isabella and four-year-old Emma play tag on the lawn with a golden retriever puppy. Isabella’s cheeks were rosy with health, her movements agile, graceful, and full of boundless life.

Around Isabella’s neck hung the restored silver Saint Jude pendant, gleaming brightly in the golden afternoon sunlight.

Sophia walked over to my side, wearing an elegant ivory lace dress, holding two glasses of chilled sparkling cider. Her face was radiant with peace, dignity, and deep, quiet love.

“What are you thinking about, Antonio?” Sophia asked softly, resting a warm hand against my forearm.

I turned to look at her, my dark eyes filled with profound, unshakeable devotion.

“I was thinking about the day I almost dismissed you from this house,” I murmured, taking her hand and bringing her knuckles gently to my lips. “I was looking for missing money and broken stone, completely blind to the fact that God was sending me the angels who would save my family’s soul.”

Sophia smiled, leaning her head against my shoulder as the warm sea breeze rustled through the maple leaves overhead.

“We saved each other, Antonio,” she whispered.

From the lawn, Isabella and Emma came running up the stone steps hand-in-hand, their arms overflowing with freshly picked daisies, throwing their arms around our waists.

“Daddy! Sophia! Look at the flowers for the big table!” Isabella cheered with radiant joy.

I knelt down, gathering Sophia, Isabella, and little Emma into a warm, unbreakable embrace beneath the endless golden sky.

The shadows of betrayal, the wheelchair, and the cold grief of the past were gone forever. Standing together in the light of truth and unconditional love, we were finally whole—a family that would stand strong, undefeated, and full of hope for all the years to come.
