Chapter 7 - THE NIGHT THE BABIES DISAPPEARED
The attack happened at 1:13 a.m.
The mansion's alarms sounded.
Daniel called my phone.
“Boss, someone breached the east entrance.”
I was already moving.
I reached the nursery.
Empty.
Both bassinets.
Empty.
My blood turned to ice.
“Lena!”
She appeared in the hallway.
Her face drained.
“Where are they?”
I looked at Daniel.
He shook his head.
Security footage showed two men entering through a service corridor.
They had taken Rose and Lily.
Lena screamed.
The sound tore through the mansion.
I caught her before she collapsed.
“Listen to me.”
She struggled.
“My babies!”
I held her shoulders.
“We'll find them.”
Her eyes filled with terror.
“Marcus.”
I looked toward Daniel.
“Find him.”
My voice was quiet.
