Chapter 6 - The Boardroom Trap

By 5:30 PM, Vivien Cole was sitting in the master dressing suite of Whitmore Manor, wearing a custom ivory Dior gown and a flawless diamond necklace.
Her private hairstylist and makeup artist were applying the final touches of blush to her cheeks.
Bradley Sinclair called her private encrypted phone.
Vivien answered with an arrogant, triumphant purr. “Bradley, darling. Everything is set. Nathaniel is completely paralyzed with guilt. He spent the entire morning apologizing to me for his mother’s 'delusions.'”
“What about the foundation audit?” Bradley asked from his office in Boston.
“Margaret didn't file the report with the board before she took her little tumble,” Vivien laughed softly. “Tonight, Nathaniel will announce our wedding date for next month. Once the ring is permanently on my finger, the secondary trust transfer of $30 million clears automatically. You can wire the cash to the Zurich account by Friday.”
“You're a genius, Vivien,” Bradley chuckled.

“I know,” Vivien smiled, adjusting her diamond earrings in the three-way mirror. “See you at the gala, my love.”
She hung up, smoothed down her silk gown, and glided down the grand staircase, stepping across the very marble landing where Margaret had bled twenty-four hours earlier without feeling a single ounce of remorse.
