Chapter 8 - The Boardroom Execution at Maritime Plaza

At 2:00 PM, the 60th-floor grand boardroom of the Hayes Maritime Tower in downtown Atlanta was convened for an extraordinary executive assembly.

Fifty institutional logistics directors, federal trade commissioners, and national media correspondents filled the vaulted chamber beneath crystal chandeliers.

Julian Cross and Beatrice were escorted into the boardroom under private security supervision, their faces pale and hollow, dressed in rumpled clothes, their arrogance completely pulverized.

At the head of the seventy-foot mahogany table sat Arthur Hayes, radiating sovereign, untouchable authority.

Sitting directly to his right, dressed in an immaculate, tailored emerald-green silk power suit with her late mother’s pearl brooch pinned over her heart, was Seraphina.

Her dark hair was swept into an elegant chignon, her skin glowing with radiant health, her posture commanding effortless, imperial majesty.

When Julian saw her sitting beside the legendary Chairman of Hayes Maritime, his knees buckled. He fell to the carpet, crawling toward the table like a broken dog.

“Seraphina…!” Julian sobbed, tears streaming down his cheeks. “Seraphina, forgive me! I was blind! I was manipulated by Gwen! You are my wife! The mother of our child! We can start over!”

Seraphina looked down at the man who had left her in the rain, her hazel eyes completely clear of anger, free of bitterness—filled only with the pristine, diamond-grade finality of a woman who had reclaimed her crown.

“You didn't want a wife, Julian,” Seraphina spoke, her voice carrying effortless clarity to every corner of the room. “You wanted a servant who paid your bills while you paraded your mistress in my home.”

She picked up the Montblanc pen, signing her initials across the divorce decree.

“Effective today, Cross Logistics is permanently dissolved. You leave this marriage with exactly what you brought into it: nothing.”

The room erupted into a thunderous standing ovation as county deputies hauled the weeping man to his feet.
