Chapter 7 - The Eviction from the Split-Level Townhouse

Before Julian could process his mother’s words, four marked cruisers from the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Department and two black Suburbans arrived at Cross Logistics.

Senior Detective Marcus Stone stepped into the executive office, flanked by two county bailiffs holding certified court orders.

“Julian Cross, Beatrice Cross, Gwen Vance,” Detective Stone announced in a voice that commanded immediate silence.

Julian scrambled backward against the wall. “What is the meaning of this?! This is private property!”

“Not anymore, Mr. Cross,” Detective Stone replied coldly.

Julian Hayes stepped forward, presenting a gold-stamped chancery decree:

The Master Title: The suburban townhouse at 442 Willow Creek Court had been purchased in 2022 entirely with funds wired from the Seraphina Hayes Living Trust. Julian had only been granted conditional residential occupancy.

The Immediate Eviction: Under Georgia Code § 44-7, Julian’s occupancy was declared void ab initio due to felony domestic abandonment and spousal endangerment.

The Foreclosure of Assets: All personal assets, luxury vehicles, and bank accounts registered to Julian Cross were placed under immediate judicial sequester.

Gwen Vance shrieked, backing away toward the window: “Wait! I have nothing to do with this! I'm just his real estate consultant!”

“You are a named co-conspirator in an active federal wire fraud investigation, Miss Vance,” Detective Stone informed her without blinking. “You accepted one point four million dollars in siphoned maritime funds. Your real estate license has been suspended, and federal marshals are impounding your Buckhead condo as we speak.”

Gwen dropped her designer purse, collapsing to the floor in bitter, hysterical ruins.
