At 6:00 AM the following morning, the financial storm struck the Vance household like a lightning bolt.
Inside the luxury home, Diane and Ryan were sitting in the kitchen drinking coffee, frantically trying to reach Emily’s cell phone.
"She hasn't answered ten calls, Ryan!" Diane shrieked, pacing the floor in her silk robe. "What if she went to the police?!"
"Relax, Mom!" Ryan snapped defensively. "Emily loves this family. She’s too soft-hearted to send her own husband to prison. She’s probably at a hotel crying. When she comes back, we’ll play the remorseful victims."

The kitchen tablet illuminated with three emergency notifications:
Account Freeze: All personal and commercial accounts held at Chase and Wells Fargo frozen under an emergency Chancery Court attachment order.
Revocation of Credit: Platinum credit facilities totaling $350,000 immediately terminated by the primary guarantor—The Sterling Heritage Trust.
Notice of Default: Foreclosure execution on Ryan’s commercial logistics venture scheduled for 10:00 AM.
Diane dropped her porcelain coffee cup, the dark liquid splattering across the floorboards.
