Chapter 5 - The Lockdown of New York Harbor

================================================================================
By 1:15 AM, the industrial expanse of Pier 42 in Brooklyn was enveloped in a suffocating, rain-drenched mist.
Giant steel shipping containers towered over the asphalt like iron monoliths. The red and green navigation lights of container ships blinked across the churning black water of the Hudson River.
Jason’s convoy of three black SUVs tore through the security gates, tires spinning on wet gravel. Twelve heavily armed mercenaries in tactical vests spilled out of the vehicles, taking up assault positions around Warehouse 9.
Jason stepped out into the rain, wearing a tailored leather jacket, clutching an automatic rifle with a smug, arrogant grin.
“Victor!” Jason shouted, his voice echoing off the corrugated iron walls. “Come out, Uncle! The docks are surrounded! Tom has already handed over the shipping manifests! Your empire is finished!”
Silence answered him. Only the steady drum of rain against steel.
Tom walked up beside Jason, his weapon raised, his eyes scanning the shadowed walkways. “He’s inside, Jason. The thermal sensors picked up movement near the central loading dock.”
Jason chuckled, raising his hand to signal the breach. “Blow the doors. I want to see the old man on his knees before I put him in the water.”
The lead breacher planted a magnetic charge against the roll-up door.
Three. Two. One.
BOOM.
The door buckled inward in a cloud of smoke and sparks.
The mercenaries rushed inside with flashlights cutting through the haze.
The warehouse was completely empty.
Except for a single folding table illuminated by a lone overhead bulb in the center of the concrete floor.
Resting on the table was an iPad playing a live video loop of Jason’s own master bedroom from forty-five minutes ago, alongside a framed portrait of my late brother Raymond.
Jason stopped dead in his tracks. The smirk froze on his lips.
“What is this...?” Jason stammered.
From the shadows of the four-story crane gantry above, a deep, commanding voice resonated through the rafters:
May you like
“You shouldn't have worn the watch I gave you, Jason. It makes your wrist look small.”
