Chapter 4 - The Sole Owner on the Title Deed

I lowered the microphone slightly, letting a slow, razor-sharp smile touch my lips.
"You're right about one thing, Julian," I spoke, each word carrying effortless, diamond-grade authority. "I was exhausted. Because while you spent two years pretending you were a high-flying consultant, I was running Apex Horizon Capital—the multi-billion-dollar private equity firm you claimed was your client."
Julian’s breath hitched in his throat.
The corporate executives in the crowd gasped. The Managing Director of Morgan Stanley in the third row whispered loudly: "Clara Vance is the founder of Apex Horizon?!"
"Let's talk about this five-million-dollar estate, Julian," I continued, motioning to the surrounding mansion.
Julian Hayes, my senior corporate trial attorney, stepped onto the stage holding a gold-embossed leather portfolio.
Julian Hayes opened the master real estate ledger:
The Master Deed: The property at 442 Willow Creek Lane was purchased 100% in cash by the Clara Sterling Living Trust.
The Vehicles: The two Porsche 911s and the Mercedes G-Wagon parked in the circular driveway are leased solely under Clara's corporate entity.
The Bank Accounts: All secondary platinum credit cards issued to Julian Vance were officially canceled at 2:00 PM today.
"Julian Vance holds exactly zero percent equity in this real estate, zero shares in Apex Horizon, and zero legal claim to any asset on this property," Julian Hayes declared to the crowd.
Julian Vance fell to his knees on the wooden stage, his hands trembling as the reality of his total ruin crashed down upon his shoulders.

"Clara... please," Julian begged, his voice reduced to a high, pathetic squeak. "I’m the father of your children! We built this life together!"
"I built this life, Julian," I replied coldly. "You just spent it."
