Chapter 7 - Confrontation in Open Daylight

The bail revocation hearing was scheduled for Monday morning at 9:00 AM.

As Marcus and I walked up the broad marble steps of the county courthouse, a swarm of reporters and cameras flanked the perimeter. Julian was already standing near the entrance with his new criminal defense team, dressed in a sharp navy suit, trying desperately to project an image of dignified innocence.

When our eyes met across the courtyard, his jaw tightened. For a fraction of a second, the mask slipped, revealing the cold, murderous fury beneath.

He took two steps toward me, defying his lawyer's restraining hand.

"Elena," Julian whispered, his voice trembling with suppressed malice as cameras flashed. "You're destroying our family. Think about the baby. Drop this madness and come home."

I stopped. I didn't hide behind Marcus. I stepped forward, standing tall in the bright morning sunlight, looking straight into the eyes of the man who had tried to extinguish my soul.

"There is no home with you, Julian," I said clearly, loud enough for the nearby microphones to pick up every syllable. "There was only a torture chamber. And the world finally knows who you are."

Inside Courtroom 4B, Judge Harrison showed zero tolerance for Julian’s intimidation tactics.

Detective Morales presented the phone logs showing thirty-four burner calls originating from Julian’s IP address, directly violating his pre-trial release terms.

Judge Harrison slammed her gavel onto the wooden block with resounding finality.

"The defendant has demonstrated a flagrant disregard for court orders and poses an imminent threat to the victim and the unborn child," Judge Harrison ruled. "Bail is hereby revoked. The defendant will be remanded to county custody without bail until the commencement of trial."

Two armed bailiffs moved in, confiscating Julian’s watch, belt, and suit jacket before cuffing his wrists behind his back. As he was dragged through the secure holding door, his polished veneer completely broke, screaming obscenities as the heavy steel door slammed shut behind him.
