Vincenzo learned about the evidence before we could hand it over.
Someone inside Dante's organization warned him.
Within hours, several businesses were locked down.
Bank accounts disappeared.
Security teams changed allegiance.
And Vincenzo began spreading rumors that Dante had betrayed the family.
Dante stood in his office, reading the reports.
His expression was cold.
Marco looked at him.
“We can handle this.”
Dante shook his head.
“No.”
Marco frowned.
“Boss?”
“We're not starting a war.”
I looked at him.
He turned toward me.
For the first time, I saw him choose something other than violence.
He contacted an attorney.
Then federal investigators.
The evidence was preserved.
The financial records were authenticated.
And the investigation began.
Vincenzo responded with threats.
