Chapter 10 - THE TRUTH ABOUT THE DUCA FAMILY
Alejandro listened as Sophia told him everything.
At first, he didn't believe it.
Then Victoria confirmed the details.
His father had arranged Isabella's disappearance.
He had paid people to keep her hidden.
And he'd told the family she was dead.
Alejandro stood motionless.
His father had died six years earlier.
For years, Alejandro had believed the old man was cruel but loyal to his family.
Now he understood the truth.
His father had destroyed his own daughter to protect an empire.
Alejandro looked at Victoria.
“You knew?”
She began crying.
“Yes.”
His expression hardened.
“And you said nothing?”
“I was afraid.”
Alejandro laughed bitterly.
“So was Isabella.”
Victoria lowered her head.
Sophia stepped forward.
“Alejandro.”
He turned.
She looked at him.
“We need to find her.”
Alejandro nodded.
“Yes.”
He reached for his phone.
Then stopped.
He looked at Sophia.
For the first time, he asked instead of ordered.
“Will you help me?”
Sophia swallowed.
