Chapter 13 - THE WOMAN WHO FOUND HER OWN NAME

Isabella completed her first major professional examination.

She passed.

She stared at the results on her laptop.

Then laughed.

Then cried.

Then called Noah.

"I passed!"

He shouted.

"Of course you did!"

She called Adrien next.

He answered immediately.

"Isabella?"

"I passed."

Silence.

Then:

"I knew you would."

She smiled.

"You sound smug."

He laughed.

"I am."

That evening, Adrien took her to dinner.

He brought flowers.

Not expensive roses.

Blue irises.

Her favorite.

She stared.

"How did you know?"

He smiled.

"You used to put them in the kitchen."

Isabella laughed softly.

"You noticed?"

Adrien nodded.

"I noticed more than you think."

Over the following months, Isabella continued working with the housing transparency nonprofit.

She helped review project budgets.

Supported financial reporting improvements.

And participated in community meetings.

She was no longer hiding behind a uniform.

No longer searching through someone else's house for answers.

She had her own career.

Her own apartment.

May you like

Her own future.

And Adrien loved her without trying to control any of it.
