Margaretta struck before they could release the evidence.
Luca disappeared.
Matteo was shot outside the hospital.
And Gio received one message.
Come alone or Isadora dies.
He ignored the instruction.
Instead, he called Isadora.
“Get your mother somewhere safe.”
“No.”
“Isadora.”
“I'm coming.”
“This isn't a request.”
She looked him directly in the eyes.
“You don't own me.”
Gio paused.
Then nodded.
“I know.”
They went together.
The meeting took place at the same restaurant where everything had begun.
La Corona.
Margaretta sat at table seven.
She wore a white silk dress.
Perfect.
Calm.
Untouchable.
She smiled when Gio entered.
“My son.”
Gio stopped across from her.
“You kidnapped Isadora.”
“No.”
Margaretta gestured toward the kitchen.
A door opened.
Isadora's former supervisor walked out.
Emilio.
Blood covered his shirt.
Isadora gasped.
Margaretta smiled.
“Your little waitress was never important.”
Isadora stepped forward.
“Then why are you afraid of me?”
Margaretta's smile disappeared.
“Because you have your mother's courage.”
“And you have her blood on your hands.”
Margaretta laughed.
“Do you really think you can destroy me?”
Gio placed a recorder on the table.
“No.”
He pressed play.
Margaretta heard her own voice.
Her expression changed.
The recording of the assassination plan filled the restaurant.
She stared at Gio.
“You recorded me.”
“No.”
He smiled coldly.
“Your son did.”
Margaretta turned.
Behind her stood Antonio.
Alive.
Older.
Scarred.
