Chapter 8 - The Boardroom Reckoning of Julian Sterling

At 3:30 PM, the 50th-floor grand boardroom of the Sterling Global Tower was packed with thirty institutional directors, foreign ambassadors, and regional bank presidents.

At the head of the sixty-foot mahogany conference table sat thirty-eight-year-old Julian Sterling, dressed in a bespoke Italian pinstripe suit, adjusting his platinum Rolex with an arrogant smirk.

“Gentlemen,” Julian announced smoothly. “Given Alexander’s persistent emotional withdrawal, it is our fiduciary duty to transition the executive chairmanship to ensure corporate stability—”

BOOM.

The heavy double carved-oak doors were blown inward by a concussive hydraulic breach.

Every director leaped to their feet in utter shock.

Walking down the center aisle, radiating sovereign, terrifying power, was Alexander Sterling.

In his arms, dressed in an immaculate cream cashmere coat and a pretty silver headband, was six-year-old Clara, holding her father’s lapel with quiet, unshakeable trust.

Beside them walked Julian Hayes and Senior Detective Marcus Vance, flanked by eight armed Federal Marshals.

Julian Sterling’s pen snapped in half.

His jaw dropped so violently that his water glass fell from his hand, shattering across the polished table.

“A... Alexander...?!” Julian stammered, backing away toward the panoramic windows, his face turning an ashen shade of curdled milk. “Who... who is that child?!”

“Meet Clara Sterling,” Alexander announced, his deep baritone filling the vaulted room with effortless, diamond-grade authority. “My daughter. The rightful, sole heir to the Sterling Dynasty.”
